Tooth Counting Event

I went to the Dr. Homa's office with mom and dad last week; but I didn't have an appointment so she could not see me. I was very disappointed, but mom promised to book me an appointment.... and she did!

My appointment was for today and I was VERY excited that I was finally going to see Dr. Homa. Mom picked me up from the daycare and we directly went to Dr. Homa's office. We only had to wait for a few minutes and then it was our turn. Dr. Homa was very nice, she asked me to sit on a big chair; she also asked mom to sit right next to me, on a little chair that looked like a tooth! She then asked me how many hands I had and then we started counting my fingers.... and then she said that she wanted to count my teeth. She took out a pair of gloves and asked me to touch them; they were very soft! She explained to me that she had to wear them while she was counting my teeth, which was cool with me. She asked me to open my mouth and quickly counted my teeth... I had no idea I had that many teeth...after all, I can only count to 20! She must have also checked my teeth while she was counting because she told mom and my teeth looked great! She also showed mom how to floss my teeth.

And then I got to pick tooth brush, a nice big sticker and another toy!

I loved my first dental appointment and look forward to going back in 6 months... next time Dr. Homa will be cleaning and polishing my teeth, as well :o)

I am 3!

Time Flies, doesn't it!! Can you believe I am already three years old!?

My birthday party was on October 30th this year; mom wanted to separate that from the trick or treating so I could enjoy two sets of events on two different days. However, my birthday was a Halloween party, too. Mom asked all the guests to dress up for the party... not everyone did, but it turned into a fun party for adults and kids.
The adults took some funny pictures...
Some were a little crazy...
Some scary...
But the young ones had some fun, as well...
I had dressed up as a little fire-fighter.... and I loved it!! It was red, and it came with a lot of stuff, including a hose, an ax, a water spray, the whole thing! I liked mom's costume, as well... do you know why? Hers was red, as well!
Well, it was a birthday party after all, so we also did all the birthday stuff....I took some pictures with my friends...
and my parents...
blew the candle....
Cut the cake...
And opened a lot of lovely presents...Speaking of the gifts, I got a very special birthday present from Mari, a dear friend of mine who lives far far away. I am sure you already know her, she is a great writer who lives in Spain and always writes magical stories for my birthdays. Thanks Maria for the lovely story! I hope one day I can meet you in person!
I had a great time on my birthday, but the fun was not over yet!! Mom, Pooneh and Parna took me Trick or Treating on the Halloween night! It was a lot of fun to ring the neighbour's bells and get candy! It was really windy, and mom had to hold onto my fire fighter hat the whole time!

Mom told me that I had to say " Trick or Treat" every time someone opened the door, and I kept saying "Say Trick or Treat"!! Mom reminded me over and over again that I was not supposed to say the "Say" part, but it didn't quite register so she finally gave up. I did however say "thank you" and "good night" every time someone gave me chocolates and came back with a bag full of candies. It was another fun night!

New Day Care

Mom spent the whole weekend trying to explain that I was a big kid, that it was time for me to move on and go to a big boy daycare, and how wonderful this new place would be, etc. but I cannot still understand why I can no longer go to Patricia's place. OK, mom and dad have to go to work everyday and I cannot stay home on my own, I get that part! But I have been going to Patricia's place all along, what has changed? That's the part I am struggling with!

Anyway, Monday morning finally arrived! Mom and I got into her car and talked about the new day care on the way. I was in a way excited but when we got there, I did not want to let mom's hand go. Miss Sue was the only care giver who was working at the day care at that time and she was trying to make me feel comfortable while greeting other kids; but I still wanted to hold mom's hand. Mommy was also trying to help me settle in a little: she showed me around, the books, the toys, the fish tank.....

It was finally time for mom to leave, she had to to go work. Mom tried really hard not to cry but I could see that she was upset. She gave me a big hug and a kiss, that's when I started crying. I was begging mom not to leave! She tried to calm me down, but that's not what I was looking for.... I wanted her to stay or take me with her.... I wanted her to take me to Patricia's place.... I didn't want to be a big kid anymore.... I was holding on to mom's legs so she could not leave, but she had to go! She kissed me again and said that she would be back soon. Miss Sue apologized to mom as she was holding me tight so mom could leave. Miss Sue took me to the window so I could wave to mom as she was walking towards the car. I cried for about 5 minutes but I was upset the whole day.

Mom picked me up later that day, I was REALLY happy to see her.

I am sure I will get used to this day care thing, but I think it will take a while..... what do you think?

Bye Patricia :(

It is always hard to say good bye ....

My parents have enrolled me in a new daycare that will start tomorrow. Last Friday I had to say goodbye to Patrica and my best friend Shinoske (Shini).
I have been very emotional in the last week or so, because I have been told that I would not be able to take Patricia or Shini to my new daycare; I know I am going to miss them.

Mom picked me up from Patricia's place last Thursday and took a few pictures.
She let me play with Shini for a long time
We even got into a little fight (as always!!)
When we were leaving, I started crying as I wanted to go back and give Patricia another hug and say goodbye to her again. Then I asked Patricia to sit in our car a little and finally when it was time for her to leave, I said good bye but I had tears in my eye. When we drove away, I could no longer control myself and started crying again while call Patricia's name. Mom said that I would go back the following day and spent another day with Patricia and Shini. But then what? I am old enough to understand that this phase of my life is over.....
I love Patrica and I will miss her :o(

Niagara Falls

I went to Niagara Falls for the first time; I was so excited when we left the house and kept talking about "Abshaar" (meaning the Falls), because I could not wait anymore. But I got really tired and wanted to go back home as we were getting closer to the Falls!

We Finally made it...
It was a beautiful day so we took lots of pictures...
with the FallsAnd other beautiful sceneries

And sometimes we had to take a break, sit down and enjoy the beautiful viewI was getting really hungry, so we went for a nice lunch... and you know what comes after lunch? A nap of course. I was very sleepy so I asked mommy to carry me for a while and fell asleep in her arms.... and then in the car. It was a short nap... and a long drive so I could not wait to get home... and it was nice to be home.

Dad and I did some guy stuff in the evening and cleaned the patio There were a lot of dried leaves on the deck and I helped him with my little broom.

Birthdays.... Lots of Birthdays

I am now understanding what birthdays all about.... the cake, the candles the birthday song.... I also know that you have to buy a present when you go to a birthday party, but I am not sure what happens to it, as we never seem to bring it back.

I know all about birthdays, because I went to a few of them in the last couple of months. Pooneh, Parna and Namsim (my cousins) were all born in July. Oh did I forget Vida!! August is another month full of birthdays, including Ebeshteh (Khaleh Fereshteh), Nanana (Khaleh Forouz), Khaleh Sarah and last but not least daddy's...and of course my lovely friend, Mari.

The other night, I threw a birthday party for the moon and the stars! It was a beautiful night and I could see the moon and lots of stars through my bedroom window. So I said "first it is the Moon's birthday, then it is the stars'!" (Because I know, people's birthdays are not all at the same time.) And then I started singing the birthday song for my friends in the sky!

B....E...I....

I am exactly 2 years and 7 months today! And on this lovely day, mom discovered that I am interested in spelling words! That's right, spelling! I was playing with my toys this afternoon and I said "B-E-I; Bye"... OK, may be that's not how some of you spell the word "Bye" but I think that's close enough.

I can easily count from 1 to 16 in Persian and English; I can also recognize the numbers from 1 to 10. In addition, I know some of the letters in English; my favorite letters are O, X and W! And, thanks to Dora the Explorer, I know two Spanish words, as well: Abre & Ola! (although I don't know how to spell them!)

By the way, we are still having problem uploading and moving the pictures on the weblog, so our March and April updates cannot be posted at this time :(
